Caution surfaces, (regulated) water, dams
NVE's flood caution map, a coarser first assessment of where flood risk should be investigated further. The dataset shows areas that may potentially be exposed to flooding, regulated water bodies and dams. It is built to capture risk where NVE has not produced detailed flood zone maps. Distributed to Placepoint by Geodata AS.
Note the distinction between this dataset and Flood areas, flood protection areas, and flood events: the caution map is broader and less precise, but it covers areas that the detailed flood zone map does not touch. For a developer, this is often the first check on a site. If the caution layer shows flood risk, it must go into the risk and vulnerability assessment that underpins the zoning plan (reguleringsplan), and it can trigger consideration zones (hensynssoner) and planning provisions. Part of Placepoint's map layers for risk and water.
Update frequency: Monthly.
