Age distribution
Average age per basic statistical unit in Norway. The dataset is supplied to Placepoint by Geodata AS, which sources the underlying map layer from the population statistics of Statistisk sentralbyrå (SSB, Norway's national statistics agency). The grunnkrets (basic statistical unit) is the smallest official geographical unit for population figures, a village, a residential area, a city district or part of a municipality, and it is the standard scale for SSB statistics at area level.
For a property developer or commercial agent, the age distribution is one of the clearest signals of an area's character and direction of change: where are the families with children, where is the population ageing, where are young people moving in? Read the dataset together with Population, Daytime population, Households, Income and Education Level for a full picture of the demographics in the area. Included in Placepoint's map layer for demographics.
Update frequency: annual.
Follows SSB publication.
