Wastewater facilities

Overview of municipal wastewater facilities and discharge points, based on the Forurensning (pollution) system run by Miljødirektoratet and collected through the annual KOSTRA reporting from the municipalities. The dataset includes treatment plants with capacity, type of treatment and discharge location, which is relevant both for environmental assessment and for infrastructure planning.

For a developer, the dataset is relevant when building in areas with marginal treatment plant capacity. Larger housing projects can require connection clarifications or an extension of the municipal facility, and this is normally handled as a sequencing requirement in the zoning plan.
