Kindergartens
All kindergartens in Norway from Utdanningsdirektoratet's (the Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training) Barnehagefakta, the public database for kindergarten information. The dataset includes the kindergarten's name, ownership type (municipal, private or county municipal), number of children, number of employees, opening hours and contact details. The kindergartens report the information themselves, and the municipality and Utdanningsdirektoratet quality assure the data. Reporting takes place annually, so some information may have changed since the last report.
For a housing developer, proximity to a kindergarten is one of the most important location factors for housing projects aimed at families with children, a basic attractiveness indicator in the prospectus and target group analysis. For developers planning larger projects, the municipality can also set order-of-development requirements stating that new kindergarten capacity must be established in parallel with housing development, particularly in high-pressure areas. Part of Placepoint's map layer for education. Related: Primary Schools, Upper secondary schools, School catchment areas.
Update frequency: Annual.
Follows the Udir reporting cycle.
