Cars and fuel types
Number of cars per fuel type in each area, based on the motor vehicle register held by Statens vegvesen (the Norwegian Public Roads Administration). Fuel types included: petrol, diesel, paraffin, gas, electric, hydrogen, petrol hybrid, diesel hybrid, biodiesel, biopetrol, methanol, ethanol and other. The fuel type with the most cars in the area sets the map colour. Supplied to Placepoint by Geodata AS.
For commercial property agents and valuers, the fuel mix is a structural indicator of an area's climate profile and socioeconomics. For developers, it is relevant when planning parking standards and charging infrastructure in zoning plans, an area with a high share of electric cars triggers different infrastructure requirements than an area dominated by fossil fuel cars. Read it together with Electric cars, Cars age, Cars brands, Cars types and Parking and charging. Part of Placepoint's map layer for transport and communications.
Update frequency: weekly.
