Grocery Chains
All grocery stores in Norway - REMA 1000, Kiwi, Coop Extra/Mega/Prix, Meny, Spar, Joker, Bunnpris and more - with name, address, telephone number, net turnover, operating profit and chain affiliation. The register is built on data from the chains themselves, supplemented with updated information from Iper AS, and is supplied by Geodata AS. The company information ultimately comes from Brønnøysundregistrene's Enhetsregisteret (the Central Coordinating Register for Legal Entities).
In addition to the store points themselves, the dataset provides a heat map based on the same source data: an interpolated density surface that shows where store coverage is high or low. The heat map is typically used in location analysis for new grocery stores, or to identify under-served areas where new housing development has to account for long distances to shops.
For a developer, the grocery map is one of the most important single indicators of housing attractiveness and retail development. For a commercial property agent, it is a basis for assessing sites for new grocery stores (typically a site of 3 to 8 dekar with good access). Included in Placepoint's map layer for business. Adjacent BRREG-based business locations: Department stores, Pharmacies, Fuel stations, Wine monopoly, Shopping centres.
Update frequency: Weekly.
