Drainage lines
Modelled water flow lines in the terrain, lines that show where water will collect on an area larger than one dekar (1000 m²) based on an analysis of the national terrain model at 50 cm resolution from hoydedata.no. The model covers about 99% of the country. Sinkholes in the terrain model were filled before the analysis, but culverts, drainage pipes and buildings have not been edited out, so the dataset can show watercourses running through structures that in practice interrupt or divert the water. Distributed by Geodata AS.
For developers and design teams, the dataset is a useful screening tool when assessing a site: where does water run across the terrain, and where are there therefore potential surface water and drainage problems? Use it to support NVE's Regine analysis, and read it together with Soil moisture, Watercourses and catchments and Flood awareness areas. Part of Placepoint's map layer for water.
Update frequency: When the source changes.
When there are major changes to the terrain model.
