Lessees

The dataset shows all leasehold plots in Norway, parts of a landed property where a time-limited lease exists between the landowner and the leaseholder. Leasehold (festeforhold) is a central legal construct in Norwegian property: the leaseholder builds and lives on the plot but does not own it, and pays an annual ground rent that can be adjusted under the rules in the tomtefesteloven (the Norwegian Ground Lease Act). For estate agents and valuers, this is essential information in the sales prospectus and the valuation, because the remaining lease term and the right of redemption affect both market value and financing.

The dataset comes from the matrikkel and is distributed through Kartverket. In Placepoint, leasehold details appear directly in the property panel when you click a property, and can also be shown as a separate map layer under Property.
