Groundwater (GRANADA)

NGU's national groundwater database GRANADA holds information about wells and natural springs in loose deposits and bedrock, probe drillings, groundwater quality, depth to bedrock, well parks and groundwater monitoring. The dataset is the authoritative source for groundwater information in Norway and is used for drinking water supply, energy wells and hydrogeological assessments.

For a developer, groundwater information is relevant to foundations, drainage and surface water, and above all when choosing ground-source heat solutions that require boreholes. Strict requirements on consideration zones and pollution control apply to sites near groundwater bodies used for drinking water. Included in Placepoint's map layers for water and geology.
