Groundwater boreholes
Nationwide overview of drilled groundwater wells, energy wells and natural groundwater springs. The dataset takes its base information from the GRANADA database held by NGU (the Geological Survey of Norway), and Placepoint receives it from Geodata AS.
Energy wells (geothermal) are a fast growing category. Ground source heat is an attractive energy solution for new buildings, particularly in central areas with strict emission requirements. For a developer it is also useful to know where existing drinking water wells are located, because new development in a catchment area may require consideration zones. Included in the Placepoint map layers for water, energy and geology. Related: Groundwater (GRANADA) (the full database), NADAG – ground investigations, Bedrock.
Update frequency: monthly.
