Gravel and crushed stone

NGU's gravel and crushed stone database, information on almost all gravel and crushed stone deposits and extraction sites in Norway for use as raw material for building and construction work. Distributed to Placepoint by Geodata AS. The database also gives information on land use, volume, quality and how important the deposits are as raw material for building purposes.

Gravel and crushed stone is the most used building material after water, and local access is often decisive for the economics of development projects. For a developer, the dataset is relevant for assessing transport distance to crushed stone plants, and for avoiding conflict with known extraction sites when planning adjacent areas. Deposits with high resource value can trigger consideration zones in zoning plans. Included in Placepoint's map layers for geology and business.
