Main Industry per Basic Statistical Unit
Placepoint's derived analysis of the 5 dominant industries per grunnkrets (basic statistical unit) in Norway, classified by NACE (the Norwegian standard industrial classification) and ranked by number of employees. The dataset is based on Brønnøysundregistrene's Enhetsregister (the Central Coordinating Register for Legal Entities) and employment statistics from SSB.
For a commercial property agent, the industry structure in the grunnkrets is one of the most important signals of the types of property that will be traded. A grunnkrets dominated by office activity has a completely different rental market from one dominated by retail or industry. For a developer, it is also relevant when assessing the target group for new buildings. Related: Ownership and Company Structure, Daytime population, Growing companies, Field of education.
