Public Transport Density

Placepoint's classification of departure density in the public transport service within each municipality, split into five levels: Highest, High, Medium, Low, Lowest. The dataset is based on route data from Entur and can often correlate with footfall. The classification is relative to the municipality as a whole, not to the national average. A "Highest" grunnkrets (basic statistical unit) in Lakselv has considerably fewer departures than a "Highest" grunnkrets in Oslo.

For a housing developer, departure density is a more differentiated measure of public transport access than walking distance alone: a stop with buses every quarter of an hour has a very different value for the home than one with few departures per day.
