Manhole cover, drain and hydrant

Visible points on the municipal water and sewer network, manhole covers, drains and fire hydrants, taken from LedningVA in Felles kartdatabase (FKB), the Norwegian common map database. The dataset contains only what is visible on the ground surface, not the complete underground network. It is distributed by Norges vassdrags- og energidirektorat (NVE), with Kartverket as the manager of FKB.

For developers and design consultants, the dataset is relevant for connecting to public water and sewer services, and for locating fire hydrants in TEK17 assessments of fire water coverage. The complete network, including the trench position of buried pipes, is not open information. You must contact the municipality for cable and pipe location before digging.
