Entur
Entur AS is a state-owned technology company under the Ministry of Transport, and acts as the national hub for public transport data in Norway. The company collects routes, stops and timetables from all public transport operators in the country: bus companies, NSB/Vy/SJ, county transport companies, ferries and the light rail. It publishes this as open data through Nasjonalt stoppestedsregister (NSR), the national stop place register, and NeTEx-based route data services. Placepoint uses this data in the map layers Public transport stops and Public transport routes, and it underpins the derived Placepoint analyses Public Transport Density and Walking to the public transport stops.
For a property developer, closeness to public transport is a critical location factor. Walking distance to the metro, tram or a frequent bus line lifts both residential and commercial property values markedly, and it can be decisive for the parking standard in reguleringsplaner, zoning plans. For an estate agent, the same data is useful in sales prospectus and valuation work.
Entur is a state-owned technology company that works to make it easier to choose public transport across Norway. With Entur you find buses, trams, trains, metro lines, ferries, e-scooters and city bikes gathered in one place. Based on the data we receive, we build the Entur app for you as a traveller, and digital services that all of public transport Norway can benefit from.
