Fiskeridirektoratet
Fiskeridirektoratet is the national agency for fisheries and aquaculture management, under Nærings- og fiskeridepartementet (the Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries). Its responsibilities include the Aquaculture register, the public register of all Norwegian fish farms with their sites, licences and operating status. The Aquaculture register feeds Placepoint's map layers for coast and fisheries, so that users working with coastal property (aquaculture property, sea-facing business, plots for fisheries-related activity) can see where sites exist and which species are farmed.
The agency also runs several other relevant registers, including Fiskerimanntallet (the register of professional fishers), a vessel register and up-to-date data on quotas and catches. These are not yet compiled in Placepoint, but you can retrieve them directly from Fiskeridirektoratet's map solution when you need them.
Fiskeridirektoratet was established in Bergen in 1900, and is the advisory and executive body for the authorities within fisheries and aquaculture management in Norway.
