Statistiska centralbyrån (SCB)
Statistiska centralbyrån (SCB) is Sweden's national statistics agency, a public body under the Swedish Ministry of Finance. It produces and publishes official statistics at national, regional and municipal level covering the economy, population and society, and makes the figures openly available through Statistikdatabasen. SCB is also the coordinating authority for Sveriges officiella statistik, the Swedish framework that corresponds to the Norwegian Statistics Act, and therefore sets the standard other Swedish agencies follow when they report official statistics. For the property sector, SCB's series on fastighetspriser och lagfarter (property prices and changes of ownership), befolkning och hushåll (population and households), and byggande och bebyggelse (construction activity and building stock) are among the most widely used. These regional and demographic series are the basis most Swedish market analysis rests on, whoever carries it out.
Placepoint does not currently source any Swedish datasets from SCB. Combify, through which we cover Swedish property, names Lantmäteriet's fastighetsregister and Skatteverket's taxeringsvärden as the sources behind its property data, not SCB. What we cite directly from SCB is a single figure: that Lantmäteriet granted around 130,000 lagfarter in Sweden in 2025, a market statistic about the Swedish property market as a whole, not a measure of Placepoint's own coverage. Combify holds the current lagfart for each fastighet, not the transfer history behind it, so that figure comes from SCB and not from our own data. The Norwegian counterpart is Statistisk sentralbyrå (SSB): both are the national, professionally independent statistics authority, both publish population and property statistics openly through a public statistics bank, and the comparison holds well in both directions. The figure from SCB also shows that transaction volume in the Swedish property market is close to the Norwegian level, even though Placepoint currently shows only who is registered as owner right now, not the transfer history the figure is drawn from.
SCB:s främsta uppgift är att förse användare och kunder med statistik för beslutsfattande, debatt och forskning.

Statistics we cite from SCB
SCB is not a source Combify draws property datasets from. What we cite is a single figure from SCB's public statistics, given on /tall:
- Fastighetspriser och lagfarter - the source behind the figure for the number of lagfarter Lantmäteriet granted in Sweden in 2025
