Mineral resources
Registered deposits of industrial minerals (limestone, quartz, talc and more), natural stone and metal resources in Norway. The dataset contains both area and point entries and comes from the mineral resources database of NGU, distributed to Placepoint by Geodata AS.
For a developer working with industrial and extraction property, mineral resources are the primary starting point for siting assessments. For developers in other sectors, the dataset is relevant where development may conflict with known deposits. Minerals are protected under the Minerals Act, and the municipality can set special requirements in zoning plans. Part of Placepoint's map layers for geology and business. Related: Mining rights, Gravel and crushed stone, Bedrock.
Update frequency: Monthly.
