Commercial buildings
Commercial buildings in the matrikkel (the Norwegian cadastre), grouped into five main categories:
- Varehandel (retail trade): shops, shopping centres, department stores, petrol stations, health studios (this also includes fitness centres), exhibition halls, banks and post offices.
- Industri (industry): factories, workshops, central kitchens and canteens.
- Warehouse and logistics: warehouses, chilled and frozen storage, postal terminals, freight terminals.
- Mat og overnatting (food and accommodation): hotels, motels, guest houses, restaurants, cafés, fast food outlets, fast food restaurants, campsites and apartment hotels.
- Office: office and administration buildings, town halls, media buildings, other business premises.
The building geometry comes from Felles kartdatabase (FKB), the shared national map database, and the dataset itself is supplied by Kartverket. For commercial property agents and valuers, it is the primary basis for prospecting and valuing commercial property, and it is part of Placepoint's map layer for business.
