Grid installations

Geographically located grid installations from Netbas (Volue), Statnett's management system, including overhead lines, underground cables and substations in the transmission grid and the higher-voltage distribution grid. The dataset is digitised mainly at a scale of 1:50,000 (some at 1:5000, and some have precise coordinates). Installations exempt from public disclosure under section 13 of the Freedom of Information Act are not included. Distributed by the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE).

For a developer, the grid installation data is a mandatory check on all plots near larger electrical installations, because it triggers building prohibition zones and notification zones that restrict development and ground works. Read this dataset together with Substations, towers, poles & licences (the more detailed individual installations) and Planned Electrical Installations in the Power System (planned installations under licence processing). Included in Placepoint's map layers for energy and infrastructure.
