Petroleum Infrastructure
Petroleum facilities and pipelines in Norway: processing plants, gas pipeline systems, landfall facilities and hubs for the oil and gas industry. The dataset is supplied by Geodata AS, with Sokkeldirektoratet (the Norwegian Offshore Directorate, formerly Oljedirektoratet) as the underlying data owner.
For a property developer in petroleum regions (Stavanger, Bergen, Mongstad, Kollsnes, Mosjøen and others), proximity to petroleum facilities is both a business structure factor and a location factor: the facilities trigger safety zones with restrictions on adjacent land use. For a housing developer, proximity to high-pressure gas pipelines can trigger hensynssoner (consideration zones) in reguleringsplaner (zoning plans). Included in Placepoint's map layers for energy and infrastructure. Related: Petroleum Wellbores, Petroleum Cultural, Grid installations.
Update frequency: Monthly.
