Politiloggen

Politiloggen (the Norwegian police's public incident log) holds events that the police districts publish. These include traffic, fire, accidents, public order, violence, theft and other events. We collect them from the police's open API (api.politiloggen.politiet.no). The data is open data under NLOD 2.0. Source: Politiet (the Norwegian Police Service).

The map shows the last twelve months. We look up each event in the place name register from Kartverket. If an event can be placed at a place name in the municipality, it becomes a point. Other events only count towards the number for the municipality. The numbers show what the police chose to publish, not reported offences. Compare a municipality with itself over time. Withdrawn messages, images and the text in missing-person messages are not shown. The dataset is part of Placepoint's map layer for Risk.

How the dataset appears on the map

The dataset is part of the map layer Risk. Sublayers, and what you see when you click on the map, are described under Politiloggen.
