School catchment areas
School catchment areas show which primary and lower secondary schools a given home belongs to under the municipality's admission scheme. For families with children, this is often the single factor that weighs most heavily in a housing decision, and the layer appears both in the property panel and as a separate map layer under education.
The dataset is supplied by Kartverket, which compiles the school catchment areas from the municipalities' own systems. Note that some kommuner do not share their school catchment areas through this national channel. Bergen kommune is the best known example, so its admission areas are taken directly from the kommune in the dataset Admission areas for schools in Bergen.
