Voting districts
Voting districts and polling stations in each municipality. The municipal council or the electoral committee decides the number of voting districts and polling stations. Usually there is one polling station per voting district, but extra polling stations can be set up when needed. From the 2023 election onwards, the polling station no longer has to be physically located inside the voting district. The municipality can use a suitable venue outside the voting district. Delivered to Placepoint by Geodata AS.
Voting districts are also used as a geographical division for electoral research and demographic analysis, a scale between grunnkrets (the smallest statistical area unit) and municipality. For property analysis, the dataset is mainly a geographical reference division, rarely a first-order signal about market conditions. Best read together with Municipality Borders, School catchment areas and Population. Part of Placepoint's map layer for demographics.
Update frequency: Weekly.
