Trafikkulykker
Registered traffic accidents in Norway, mainly accidents involving personal injury, from Statens vegvesen's Nasjonal vegdatabank (NVDB, the national road database). The dataset is merged from two earlier layers, a heat map that uses colour tones to show areas with a high number of accidents, and a more detailed temperature presentation. Both contain information about the accident location, weather conditions, extent of injury and vehicles involved.
For a developer, accident data is relevant when assessing sites near busy junctions and stretches of road. A high accident rate can trigger requirements for particular safety measures (fences, access solutions, walking and cycling measures) in zoning plans. For a housing developer it is also a signal about the character of the area, particularly near schools and routes used by children. Included in Placepoint's map layers for risk and transport. Related: Traffic volume, Road category, authority & speed limit.
Update frequency: weekly, based on NVDB.
