Water & sewer assets along roads
Selected water and sewer objects along public roads from Statens vegvesen's Nasjonal vegdatabank (NVDB, the national road database). The dataset includes:
- Manhole - structure for connecting pipelines or for taking in water through a grating or drain.
- Pipeline - pipe for liquid or gas along a road.
- Closed pipe trench - route with buried pipeline(s) or a crushed stone drain for drainage or other pipe lines.
- Open ditch - depression in the terrain for drainage, part of the road's water run-off system.
- Toilet facility - buildings with toilets or urinals (typically at rest areas).
The dataset supplements the broader Manhole cover, drain and hydrant layer, which covers the municipal water and sewer network. For a developer, water and sewer infrastructure near roads is relevant when building close to a public road, and when assessing drainage and surface water management.
