Hydropower

NVE's management overview of all dams and regulated lakes in Norway, covering both developed and undeveloped hydropower potential. The dataset includes power plants in operation, power plants out of operation, and the projects that have been processed or are awaiting processing in the licensing process. Dams built for purposes other than power production (water supply, flood control) are also included, because all regulated lakes affect the watercourses regardless of purpose. Distributed by Norges vassdrags- og energidirektorat (NVE), the Norwegian water resources and energy directorate.

For a developer or investor, the dataset is relevant to all projects linked to watercourses, small-scale hydropower and water resource use.
