Upper secondary schools

All public and private upper secondary schools in Norway from Utdanningsdirektoratet's (the Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training) Nasjonalt skoleregister (NSR), with contact details, ownership form, number of pupils and county municipality. NSR is updated against Brønnøysundregistrene's Virksomhets- og foretaksregister and Grunnskolens Informasjonssystem (GSI), and records the situation as at 1 October each year. For some schools, the positional accuracy may deviate slightly.

For a housing developer, proximity to an upper secondary school is particularly relevant for housing projects aimed at families with teenagers, and it is one of several location indicators used in prospectuses and area analyses. Depending on the programme of study and the applicant profile, the intake area and ranking rules may also affect which schools a family can actually access.
