Search and map
How do I find a property?
Click the search field at the top left of the map, or press Ctrl + G (Windows) or Cmd + G (Mac). Search by address, matrikkel number or place name.
The video shows all three: the address Tordenskiolds gate 2 in Oslo, a name search for Frognerseteren limited to Companies, and the matrikkel number 1865-55-30-0-0 in Vågan.

How do I turn on a map layer?
Click Map layer at the top right, then Browse layers. Search for the layer or choose a category, and click Add on the card. The layer now sits in the Map layer panel, where the toggle on the row hides and shows it.
The video adds Støykartlegging etter T-1442 and Trafikkulykker - varmekart, and shows one layer at a time using the toggles in the panel.

How do I find a map layer when I don't know what it is called?
Open the catalogue with Map layer and Browse layers, and type one word about what you want to know in the search field: "garden", "transformer", "flood". The search looks in the layer description and not just in the name, so "transformer" finds Grid installations, and "garden" finds Garden centres. If you know which subject area the question belongs to, choose the category in the list on the left instead, and read the introduction to the category.

How do I select several properties at once?
Hold down Ctrl (Windows/Linux) or Cmd (Mac) and click each property you want to add to the selection.

How do I select all properties within an area I draw myself?
Click Rectangle or Lasso in the toolbar along the right edge, and drag or draw around the area. All the properties inside are selected, and you can tag them all at once. If you want to reuse an area as a frame for analyses, draw it under Areas in the project.

How do I get more space for the map?
The map fills the whole window. What takes up space is the property panel. Click the three dots at the top of the panel and choose Move panel to dock it at the bottom, at the top, on the left, or let it float freely. Close it with the cross when you only want to see the map. The left menu is narrow and only shows names when you hover the pointer over it.

How do I see the names of the icons in the toolbar?
Hover the pointer over an icon to see its name. Click the arrow at the bottom of the toolbar along the right edge, and the names appear next to the icons until you click the arrow again.

How do I filter properties or companies by criteria?
Click Filter in the left menu and choose Property or Company. Open the sections in the form and set the values: municipality, plot area, year of construction, owner, tenant, industry. The number of hits updates as you adjust, the hits are drawn on the map, and Show in table and Export give them to you as a table and in Excel. If you would rather describe what you are looking for, write it to Ask AI in the same panel.

How do I filter by building type?
In Filter, type Property, open the Buildings section and the Building Type field. The field is a tree: take a whole branch, for example all commercial buildings, or pick individual types such as "Kontorbygning" (office building) or "Hytter, sommerhus og lignende fritidsbygninger" (cabins, summer houses and similar holiday buildings). The building type of a single building is shown at the top of the building panel, which you open from the Building tab in the property panel.

How do I tell holiday homes apart from homes on the map?
Turn on the map layer Apartment building. It draws all residential buildings from the Matrikkel by type, and Holiday Home is one of the groups, covering cabins, summer houses, annexes and year-round homes used as holiday homes. The legend at the bottom left shows the colour for each group. Sales of homes and holiday homes in the last year are in Latest sales (units of use).

Analysis and 3D
How do I analyse an area?

Click Analyze in the left menu and choose the analysis: Market Activity for home sales and listings, Rental Activity for rentals, New Build Project, Plot Transactions, Plot Ads, Commercial Transaction, Commercial Leasing, Plot Valuation, Time on Market or Area Score. Zoom in to the area, set the filters and Time Period, and read the numbers on the map, in Dashboard at the top right and in the table under Show table.

How do I run a travel distance analysis?
Right-click the starting point on the map and choose Travel time analysis, or click Travel distance in the right-hand tool rail and then the point. Choose the mode of travel (Bil, Buss, Gange, Offentlig transport, Tog, Sykkel, Coach, Car + ferry or Cycling + ferry), set departure or arrival with a time, and set the time budget. The Distance tab limits by distance instead, and A to B gives the route and travel time between two points. Several isochrones can sit in the same map, each with its own colour.

How do I run a demographic analysis?
Turn on the map layers under Demographics: population, daytime population, age, income, wealth and households per grunnkrets (basic statistical unit). Draw an isochrone with Travel distance when the question is who can get there in ten minutes, and see Who lives nearby for the procedure on a single plot.

How do I switch to 3D mode?
Click 3D at the top right of the map. Buildings and terrain are shown in three dimensions. Navigate with the scroll wheel (zoom) and the right mouse button (rotate and tilt). Click 2D to go back to the flat map.
The video switches to 3D and goes through the tools 3D gives you: Measurements, Daylight, Shadow, Elevation Profile, Line of Sight and Viewshed.

How do I measure distance or height on the map?
Switch to 3D mode. The toolbar along the right edge holds the measuring tools: Measurements for distance and area, Elevation Profile for terrain along a line. Both are only available in 3D, and the video above shows them in use.

How do I map a plot for a feasibility study?
Work through the checklist in order: planning, noise, cultural heritage, ground conditions, nature and water, access, technical infrastructure and terrain. Each point has one or more map layers that answer it, and the whole round runs in the same map.

Companies
How do I see how the number of employees in a company has changed?
Search for the company, or click it from the Owners or Tenants tab in the property panel. In the company panel, click the Financials tab and the Employees sub-tab at the bottom. The chart shows the number of employees per year, and the key figure above it shows the latest year with the change from the year before. You can find companies that are growing in an area as a map layer: Growing companies.

Projects and tags
How do I create a project?
Click the project menu at the bottom of the left menu and choose New project. Give the project a name.

How do I add a property to a project?
Click the property on the map to open the property panel. Choose Add to project and pick the right project from the list.

How do I create a tag?
Click Tags in the left menu and choose New tag. Tags let you categorise properties across projects.
The video creates the tag "Til vurdering" on Tordenskiolds gate 2 from the property panel, opens the Tags panel, zooms out to all tagged properties and searches back to the single one.

How do I add a note or a task?
Open the property panel, click the Activities tab and choose New note or New task. Activities are linked to the property and appear in the project it belongs to.

Reports and export
How do I use Reports?

Choose a report from a selected property (price statistics, demographics, nature values and more) and save it as a PDF with Ctrl + P. Today, Analyze gives you transactions, listings and rental prices for the area on the map, and the map layers under Demographics give you the population.

How do I export data?
Use Filter to build a list and click Export for .xlsx, up to 10,000 rows. The map is exported via the print button (the printer icon) in the toolbar along the right edge.
