Filter
Filter finds properties that match your criteria, across the whole matrikkel (the Norwegian cadastre). You pick fields, set values and watch the number of hits change as you adjust. Hits are drawn as clusters on the map, can be shown in a table and exported to Excel. Filter replaces Matching from Placepoint 1.
Open panel
Click Filter in the left menu. The panel lists the filter types you can search in. Search for property covers all properties in the whole of Norway. Select a type to reach the form. The arrow at the top left takes you back to the list.
The form
The fields are grouped into sections by theme: Location, Property, Parcels, Buildings, Usage units, Certifications, Owners, Tenants, Lessees and Municipality plan. The sections are closed until you open them. The search box at the top filters on field name and opens the sections that have hits.
Choose filters controls which fields the form shows. Tick the fields you need, section by section, or select all. A field you remove here drops out of the search straight away.

Active filters appear as chips above the results. The cross on a chip resets that field alone. Reset at the bottom resets the whole form.
Follow map extent limits the hits to what you can see on the map right now. The choice is not included when you save the search.
Hits on the map
Hits are drawn as green clusters with a count, for example 82.3k. Zoom in, or click a cluster, and it splits up so each property stands as its own dot. Click a dot to open the property panel. If you hold the mouse pointer over a row in the table, the property is highlighted on the map even when it sits inside a cluster.
Table and export
Show in table opens the hits as a table at the bottom of the screen, with one tab per dataset in the filter type, for example properties and buildings. Export downloads the table as an Excel file. The export takes up to 10,000 rows; if there are more hits, you have to narrow the search first.
Save the search
Save as gives the search a name so you can find it again under Saved searches. If you have opened a saved search and changed it, Save updates it, while Save as new saves a copy. Saved searches are kept until you reload the page.
Typical uses
- Find all plots over 5,000 m² in one kommune with commercial development permitted.
- Find properties without buildings in a target area, sorted by plot area.
- Screen a portfolio against the kommuneplan's arealformål (land use purpose) to catch plots that have recently changed purpose.
Differences from Placepoint 1
- The feature was called Matching and had five fixed filter groups. Filter takes the fields from the filter type you select.
- Matching distinguished between drafts and published searches. Filter has saved searches with Save as, Save and Save as new.
