Map layers: Property
The Property category gathers the most used layers for property work: the matrikkel, building categories from Matrikkelen, zoning plans, cultural heritage and price statistics. These layers are the starting point for most property-related tasks in Placepoint, from screening plots and checking zoning to price assessment and monitoring building case coverage.
Open the category through the Map Layers button at the top right of the map, or through Map layer in the left menu, then select Browse layers to see the category tiles. Click the Property tile to open the sub-list.

Cadastre – Property Map
Parcels (delimited areas/plots of land) with information about which property they belong to. Data from Kartverket.
The layer is made up of several sublayers: parcels (cadastre number, property boundary, helper line, boundary point), construction projection polygons, address, access and buildings. Turn them on and off individually through Hide/show in Active Layers.

About the map layer
The dataset contains parcels (delimited areas) with information about which property they belong to. The cadastre number (gårdsnummer/bruksnummer) identifies the property. Boundary points, boundaries and parcel area with quality information are included. Volumes for construction properties (above/below ground) are delivered as an area, a flat "footprint". The distribution is set up directly against Kartverket with about 30 minutes' delay; with larger changes or loads the delay can be somewhat longer. Use Suitable for maps, presentations and various analyses of properties and thematic data.

The layer contains five sublayers: protection zones, localities, individual heritage sites, locality icons and individual monument icons.

The display service contains data on archaeological cultural heritage, cultural environments, buildings and technical installations that are protected under the Cultural Heritage Act or the Planning and Building Act. The service also contains cultural heritage sites and cultural environments without formal protection, but registered as locally valuable, as well as world heritage areas and environments.

The layer contains two sublayers: municipality plan and municipal sub-plan. Both have sublayers for land-use purpose, consideration zones/designated areas, boundaries and legal lines, plan area, legal points and annotations.

It sets the framework for the plans and measures of the municipal services and for the use and protection of land in the municipality. All municipalities must have a municipal plan. A complete municipal plan consists of both a societal part with an action part and a land-use part. Through the municipal planning strategy, the municipality decides whether to carry out a full revision of all parts of the municipal plan, or whether only certain parts should be revised. The municipal plan must safeguard municipal, regional and national goals, interests and tasks, take the municipal planning strategy as its starting point, and base itself on guidelines and requirements from state and regional authorities. A municipal sub-plan can be drawn up for specific areas, themes or service areas. The municipal plan must have an action part that states how the plan is to be followed up over the next four years or more, and it is revised annually. The dataset is generated from the nationwide copy of municipal plans, which is kept up to date with data from the original plan data in the municipalities. Updating takes place through periodic copying or synchronisation. Use Land-use planning, case processing under the Planning and Building Act, producing statistics, assessment of measures and projects, and access to the municipality's land-use plan. Only the geographic data (vector data) of the land-use part is available for download. Associated plan documents are held in the municipalities' plan registers. The geographic data includes links on the plan areas that point to the plan registers, so that the documents are easily available to users. The web application SePlan (seplan.no) gives an overview of available municipal plans nationwide.

The layer has 78 sublayers: Latest imagery, which shows the best available imagery for the area, and one option per year from 1950 to 2026. Latest imagery is on when you add the layer; the years are off until you select one, and they are meant to be used one at a time.
How many years exist, and how far back they reach, varies from place to place. Urban areas are often photographed annually, the rest of the country through cyclical photography every five to ten years, and it normally takes up to one year from the flight to the published year.
The resolution varies, from 0.05 m in newer urban imagery to around 0.2 m in the post-war imagery. The oldest are black and white and have lower geometric accuracy. Use them to see what was there, not to measure boundaries.
