Placepoint in numbers
This is the scope of the data behind Placepoint, checked against our sources. The numbers below are the same ones used elsewhere in the documentation. The datasets they build on, and where you find them at the source, are listed on Data and sources, with one page per provider.
Property, companies and ownership in Norway

The registers change all the time. In addition to the changes of ownership, there are 300,000 address changes and close to two million changes to company details every year. How often each dataset is updated is described on Data and sources.

A main map layer is what you switch on in the catalogue. Many main map layers consist of several sub-layers, for example the vertical levels in a zoning plan.
Customers and users
More than 850 customers and over 6,500 professional users use Placepoint. You can see who they are at placepoint.no/kunder.
Sweden
Placepoint bought Combify in July 2026 and covers Swedish property through them.

The property data is updated weekly. The municipalities issue around 70,000 bygglov per year, and the platform takes in around 1,500 data updates per day. The sources are Lantmäteriet, Boverket, Bolagsverket, SCB, Metria and the municipalities.
The transaction volume in Sweden is close to the Norwegian one. Lantmäteriet granted around 130,000 lagfarter in 2025, according to SCB: Fastighetspriser och lagfarter. A lagfart is the Swedish counterpart to registered title, and the figure includes inheritance, gifts and exchanges in the same way as the Norwegian changes of ownership. A bostadsrätt is a share in an association and not a fastighet, so the sale gives no lagfart and is counted separately: over 100,000 bostadsrätter sold in 2025. We show who is registered as the owner today, while the transfer history sits with Lantmäteriet.
