Search

The global search field at the top left is the fastest way to navigate in Placepoint Fusion. Type an address, a Cadastre number, a company name or a tag name, and the search takes you to the right place with one click. The search field is always visible and does not need to be opened from a separate menu item.

Search suggestions for Tordenskiolds gate 2

How to search

  1. Click in the search field at the top, or press Tab when the map has focus.
  2. Type an address, Cadastre number, company name, organisation number, tag name or place name.
  3. A suggestion list appears below the field after about 0.5 seconds.
  4. Click a result to navigate there, or press Esc to close without selecting.

Keyboard navigation: the arrow keys ↑↓ move between results, Enter selects the highlighted result.

Video: three ways to search

The video covers the three most common entry points to the same search field: address, name and Cadastre number. It also shows how you narrow the results to one category when a name returns many results.

  1. Address: Tordenskiolds gate 2 in Oslo. The same address exists in several municipalities, so check the place name in the result.
  2. Name: Frognerseteren returns both properties and companies. Select Companies in the column on the left to see only businesses, and select Frognerseteren Restaurant.
  3. Cadastre number: 1865-55-30-0-0 finds the property in Vågan and shows the address Årstrandveien 663.

The category selection stays until you change it. If you search for something new while Companies is selected, you only see companies, so set the filter back to All.

Search categories

The search groups results into categories listed one below the other.

Property and address

Search on street name and house number, or directly on a Cadastre number.

Search with address suggestions as you type

Each address result shows the address, the place name or town and the Cadastre number (for example 0301-209-272-0-0). When you click a result, the map zooms to the property and the polygon is highlighted. Click the polygon to open the property panel.

The search matches partially: "Tordenskiolds gate 2" also returns Tordenskiolds gate 20, 21, 22 and so on. Have the full address ready when precision matters.

Company

Searching on a company name or organisation number retrieves businesses from Brønnøysundregistrene.

Search with company suggestions

Each company result shows the name, the organisation number and the industry. When you click a company result, the properties the company is registered against are shown in the map.

Cadaster

Type the Cadastre number directly in the format municipality number-gnr-bnr-fnr-snr (for example 0301-209-369-0-0). This is useful when you work with case documents or registered title deeds that use the matrikkel as the primary key.

Search with Cadastre number suggestions

Tags

Search on a tag name to find properties you or colleagues have marked. See Tags to create and manage tags.

Projects

Search on a project name to jump straight to a project in the workspace.

No results

If the search returns no results, try a shorter search term, check the spelling, or search on the Cadastre number instead of the address.

Reset and close

  • Esc closes the suggestion list.
  • Clicking outside the field closes it without navigating.
  • X next to the field clears the search text.

Typical use cases

Address to property lookup. Type the address, click the result, the polygon is highlighted in the map, then click the polygon to open the property panel. The fastest way to open a known property.

Company lookup for portfolio research. Type a company name (for example "Entra") and click the result. All properties where the company is registered as owner or tenant are shown in the map. Useful for mapping a group portfolio.

Cadastre numbers from external systems. Paste a Cadastre number from a case document or a registered title deed. The search finds the property regardless of the registered address.

Tag search. Type the first letters of a tag name to find tagged properties without opening the Tags panel.

Navigate to a project. Type the project name to jump straight there from the search field, whichever project is active.

Tips

  • Search on the Cadastre number in the format 0301-209-272 for a direct result without knowing the address.
  • Last visited (the clock icon to the right of the search field) collects the panels you have opened recently. Faster than searching again for properties you visit often.
  • Search works from every view, including while a property panel is open.
